I ran my truck at WOT last week and the EGT's went up real quick to around 1400 . When I saw 1400 I backed out of it . Then I tried to ease into it, it took longer to reach around 1400 and that was at about 95 mph. Is this right or should I reduce the timing on the rokktech or even go back to the stock sensor? I also noticed when towing around 7k lbs that the EGT's are around 900 to 1k on flat ground and non-towing and at 70mph thier around 700. Is this about right? How high is too high for EGT's? Thanks.

 

1350+ sustained can be bad. Spiking to 1350 or even 1450 shouldn't hurt anything. I definitely wouldn't run it at that temp for any period of time though...

 

EGTs sound pretty normal. I was able to hit 1400* bone stock when towing.

 

And if this is pretty normal how long is acceptable at 1400 and what about 1500? Thanks for the responses.
