XZT Problems/Code
XZT Problems/Code
I got an XZT the other day and put it in tonight. As soon as I plugged everything in and started the truck, it threw a code (P0193) and the truck sounded like an old 12 valve. So I put the bypass plug in and everything was still the same. Next check was the sensors themselves, my sensors looked fine and the factory pins looked good but the center pin on the fuel rail sensor looked defective. It was set back than the others and did not seem to make contact. As soon as I plugged the factory connection in, all was good. Do you guys think I need a new harness?
By the way, I know something was wrong because I tried to drive the truck and it had no power. Plugged the factory connections back in and all was good.

Well I thought I had something backwards, but I didn't. That's when I checked the connections and the XZT's harness seems to have a problem. Like I said, the center pin is not fully seated and I can not get it to. I think that's my problem.......
thats the code for the MAP sensor i believe. i had that too. DOUBLE-CHECK your connections and make sure the fuel(blue) is plugged into the right plug on the harness and makes sure the MAP(red) is plugged into the right plug on the harness. that causes a rough idle and makes your truck sound like a 12v. also did you turn the key to run, and check the lighting sequence that indicates everything is connected properly, before you started your truck?

Just so you know...... I got it figured out for sure. First thing I did was call Quad and speak with Roark. He said that if the center pin on the fuel rail sensor is not even with the other two, then that is most likely my problem. The chip powers up because the power and ground wires are getting a good contact, but the signal wire isn't because the pin is not seated correctly. To confirm this, I went out and took some needle nose pliers and pulled the pin out as far as possible. Granted it did not move but a tiny bit, the truck did run fine for a few minutes and the chip worked just like it was supposed to. After a few miles of driving, I threw a CEL and it sounded like a 12 valve one again. Unplugged everything and sure enough, the center pin had slid back in some more. So that is my problem. Good news is that I am shipping my harness back and they are getting a new one to me ASAP. Great customer service!!
