xzillaraider2 = rough idle

Well installed my new xzillarider2 race after sending in my old one I wish I hadn't. This new one makes my truck idle rough all the time it doesn't seem to matter what software I run on it. Think I should of kept my original race box.

Does it do it when off? What about with the bypass plug? Could just be a connection problem. Mine idles fine. Upgraded from the xzt to race when the beta testing came out. Have changed the programming on it several times too with no issues. Hmmmm...... double check all the connections. Have a rail guage?

Yes it still does it when all the way down to 0. Doesn't do it when I install the bypass plug. I can change the programming on it with no problem but truck still idles rough. Have the rail gauge that comes with it on the control pod. Truck runs fine just idles bad shakes the whole truck. Smooths out if I push the pedal just a lil to raise the rpm to 825 or 850 from the idle 800.

I'd definately call quad on Monday. That's not a normal issue. I'm sure he can get it resolved for ya. May be a timing issue because of the tone ring mod too. I'm just thinking what could be the difference in boxes?

Oh I forgot to mention I thought that might be it. So I reversed the tone ring mod after the first day. And I have tried the stack program which is supposed to be no timing, pressure only still same problem.

If it was plugged in backwards then it would be setting codes. If your not getting a CEL then doubt that is the problem.

Got the new module programmed put it in my truck fired er up to go to work this morning and it ran worse than ever tons of rattles real rough idle only smoothed out when accelerating threw three codes just terrible worst my truck has ever run. Looked at it after work the dark green wire on the plug that plugs into the module was pushing out the back of the plug when you plugged it in. I pushed the wire in with needle nose fired it up and ran fine. Called customer service and they had me try to bend the tabs a little on the plug to make it stay but it wont so they are sending me another new wiring harness.
