XZillaraider Race EGT Question
Installed Xzillaraider Race a few weeks ago. Do not have guages. Still trying to decide which route to go????
My Question: Should I be concerned that the EGT's are getting to hot, running on Level 3, crusing at 75 MPH or Much MORE and Unloaded.

Uh-oh
I would take a look at the Quad Commanders for a gauge setup. They are really nice, give you total control of your Quad Race, and are economically priced for what you get.

Form a stop if I nail it I can reach 1700degrees by 75mph on setting 2 and that is with an aftermarket turbo(SPS62/14). I really like Quad products but they run way hot especially if you are at higher elevations. I finally decided to go with a Smarty in an attempt to get my EGT's down before I do serious damage to my engine. BTW, even with the XZT I could easily get above 1450 degrees unloaded on flat ground with a stock truck. ALWAYS have gauges.........

my results were the same as BigJohnston's. I too have a larger that stock turbo. With a stock turbo your temps are almost surely higher.....
Just cruising along at 75mph you will not have any problems. It's when you are racing or towing up a big hill when you may have issues.

Thanks for your help. I've been concerned with interstate cruising speeds. When I tow, and it's usually <7K, I switch to L1 or sometimes OFF. Good to know crusing speeds or OK with L3.
What is a safe EGT limit, How hot is too hot?

You really shouldn't tow on the higher levels of your Quad box regardless of the EGTs. Your trans will not like it very much. That's a lot of extra torque and the converter is usually the first thing to go bad. I never tow with any box turned up more than the low settings, ever. Especially if you are only towing 7000lbs....
