Wow! Still 30lb of boost.....

Pulled my boost elbow off to sell with the EZ and when I took it for a spin I noticed that I still make 29-30lb of boost when I floor it! I didn't want to remove the elbow but the guy buying the EZ wanted it. Anyways, I'm happy that I still make good boost. Last I remember the truck would only make around 25-26lb w/o the boost elbow. I wonder if the turbo is just broken in or if it's about to blow...........................

I had the ellbow on my 01 and still only got 28-29lbs.
My new 05 with the edge (no ellbow ) hits 30-32. no promlem.
I have not even towed yet.

I set my alert for 35lbs
I used to pray for more boost now I wonder when is too much?
(how much is too much)?????????? stock

Your spoolup is slower W/O the elbow now. Thats what its main function is

Snow104, 35lbs is all your stock turbo will efficiently make. Low 30's is just about right for it.

Mine will hit 40lbs. under load. I've read that after 36psi. with a stock turbo you are just superheating the air?

I know that when I put the elbow on it spooled up quicker but also made more boost. It seems to run fine without it so I'm still happy.

Running the Power Pup on extreme, I can get almost 40. On the performance level I almost get 35. These are numbers I see from the history in my digital gauge.

My 04.5 600 with the Quad XZillaraider Race on 130HP setting would hit 43-44psi on stock turbo. That was a little scarry. My HOT Juice on 100hp will get to about 40psi. Dont know what the 180hp setting will really do yet. I am hoping for twins after the tc/trans is done.

Heh, I just juicegripped a truck, now runs 36psi all the way to redline, instead of tapering off to 30. Can't really tell a hp difference, but definetly an egt difference.

The elbow doesn't effect spool-up, only max boost.

i was thinking that too... isn't a boost elbow just a bleed hole in the elbow? allowing boost from the elbow to bleed off tricking the WG actuator by having less effective pressire in the chamber above the spring...wastegate closed = quickest spooling, wastegate stuck open = doesn't spool worth .... wastegates on these chargers are NC, and air/boost pressure is used to open the gate
