Will it work?
As critical as this tubing is, I fail to see why anyone would want to use anything other than REAL intake tubing for this part of the intake. PVC should work fine, but dryer tube and irrigation tube and lots of other things that I've seen people try to use simply don't make sense. Heck, I wouldn't even use exhaust tubing for this application unless it was stainless steel and I knew it wouldn't rust.
The torque tube is cool and all, but I REALLY suggest using either aluminum intake tubing, stainless steel exhaust tubing or some other material that is MADE to be used as an intake. You'll save yourself a lot of trouble in the long run if you just use materials that are made for the job you're asking them to do.
