I actually meant, you could put them on, then if you didn't like it, you could take it off ONCE. The clamps do say on the box "DO NOT REUSE". Now, I switched turbos and clutches and had to take them off twice now, but they will not seal as good the second and third time around. They will stretch more everytime you use them. So, be carefull. If you take them on and off several times, the WILL losen up.

Good luck.

And your plan sounds like mine. I'll buy another set of rims and have a street set and a mud set of tires. Then I'll just switch them when it rains a lot. Ya, right. I'm too lazy!

Use preformed instead of the flat band

Taken mine off too many times to count, still clamps down just fine....

One pipe must slide in the other. These are not used for butt splices! You can connect an ID pipe to an OD pipe, or flex over an OD pipe.

If you want to make a butt splice, two OD's together, you must buy and OD to OD adapter and put a clamp on each end.

Yep, depends on the pipe your using...(exhaust kit, or just a piece of pipe thats not flared like a kit)

I never had luck with butt splices like you said, with the clamp losing up, but also just not staying tight and allowing the pipe to move...

Flexpipe fits over the said size, so youd use that type of clamp for flex, or a flared aftermarket system, instead of the crush bend clamps that youll never seperate the pipe again

Question

ok guys its my turn to ask another dumb question . i have a 04 305-555 2500 4x4 CTD truck.I was going to straight pipe my truck to day. but the guy i took it to .Said he could not do it. Because the pipe going into the muffler sits lower than the tail pipe. All i had with me was a 4 foot section of 3-1/2 pipe. so my dumb question is, how did all of you guys that straight piped your truck do it. Allso picks would be very helpfull.thanks for all the help and info guys. Bobby Miller

Ill see if I can snag some pics in a few days, but I basically cut an angle at each end of the pipe to keep it in line with the front pipe after the cat, and the tail pipe, worked like a charm.
Sounds like that muffler shop doesnt know what hes doing.

If I can do it at a buddys house, borrowing his welder and chop saw and sawzall, a muffler shop can do it easily...

Heres a pic of what im talking about...

last night I turned down the radio, rolled down the windows and cranked the hotjuice up to 4 (dont like 5, need more fuel) and went to town down a quiet road. man it sounded mean, I never listen to my exhaust as I really love A/C but I figured I should since I like to pump the throttle in the neighborhood, no wonder peoples heads turn all the time. lol

I personally would not spend $800 to $1000 on some fancy smancy exhaust system. I ran a 4" down pipe, into 5" all the way back to a 5" stack for around $350 to $400. Lose the stack and you'd save more. Just get on line at www.airflo.com and pick your parts. You also get the satisfaction of saying, "I built that myself", instead of "I had to buy it off the shelf because I have no imagination and it cost me an extra $600!
