Who makes a Double Disc Torque Convertor ?

I've seen numerous references to double disc torque convertors, but I've only come across single or triple discs in the sites and sellers I've seen. Who makes a double and what is the hp/tq range and price range ?

I'm guessing that you have to use odd number disc TC's. You see single, triple, and now ATS has their 5 disc TC.

Bank's, BD Diesel, and Precision Industries are just three I know of that have the twin disc TQ Conv. Most of the time if you are researching and find one that lists it as being "multi disc" and not specifically 3disc it is most likely a dual disc tq conv.

The BD is the only one I know of for sure. They use to have some literature on their web site that confirmed it was a 2-disk.

Seeing how the TC is put togeather it makes no sense to say it is a two disc. I guess you can call a single disc a double because the single has to run on something making it two, but it's not accurate.

Put it this way, take your hands and put them togeather. Thats how a "single disc works (spinning around a shaft obviously). A triple disc adds another disc in the middle. So it a single disc actually a double disc? Depends on how many surfaces have clutch material on them I guess.

Get the triple disc.
