I would say go ahead and get the HTS. I would go directly thru them dont mess with a dealer theres more confusion that way I think. I have close to 700hp with no problems. dusty does have more dealers now but I would just ship it to you house. shipping on mine wasnt bad at all. at the time fuel was still high and the weather was crappy so it worked out great for me. I had a local guy put it in during the day and had it back that afternoon.

Try a Goerend unit, if you are going to start looking at others.
But back to the original question, talk to John. I actually pulled apart a perfectly working ATS that had 80K on it at over 450 HP and it looked GREAT inside, so I can say from experience that they will handle some power!!

It looks like something is missing in the story.

I have had only positive results with customer service at ATS. Contact JAkub and tell him what you want for your truck. Tell him what you intend to do with your truck (towing, sled pulling, et cetera) and he will suggest what transmission build you should get.
Start with the ATS tranny, billet input shaft, and ATS torque converter. If you intend to rip the roads up or sled pull add a their billet flex plate and billet output shaft.
Works for me.

If you live in a town with a DTT dealer go with them. If there is ever a problem then you have the person who built it right there to correct the problem(and they will do the 1500 miles service and adjustment check so you do not have too). I think that DTT, Goerend, and HTS are all good trannys. For me it came down to who was the closest. Not saying you will have a problem but parts fail sometimes.

Thanks for clarifying it!!!
It probably looked like I was being edit, but i wanted to know.
A few years ago a Dudumax guy was telling about his friend with a 01 that had 367,000 miles on it. In his 'story' he said that when it had 300,000 they took it out and check all the clearances, and said everything was like new!!!
I said to him, so it was running fine and they took it apart to see why?????!!!!!!!!!
i went home and figured it up. It was 750 miles per day from sept. of 2000 to that date. 7 days a week. Bunk to that 'story'.
Please do not use symbols in place of curse words...
Thanks-

No matter what, everyone has a different opinion. Keep the good manners up...
I personally went with ATS because I knew someone there... and my local guy is a dealer. He stands behind his work, so if something goes bump... he'd make it right.
That is my personal reccomendation... get a local guy to stand behind it... at least for 6 months... if it ain't right, you should know it by then. After that.... you play, you pay.
