White Smoke at WOT?

My son has a 03 HO with a 48RE. He has an EZ set on #3. Over the weekend he was passing someone at WOT and the truck stumpled and nearly dies, lost power and now at WOT blows White Smoke. Anyone have any idea what might be causing this? Runs fine if he doesn't floor it. Only does it when he floors it.

I've seen others do this... sounds like bad injector problems, I would avoid WOT at all costs.

The 1st thing I would do is change the fuel filer, then go from there. Sounds too simple but I bet thats it, under a load with a filter going south you will get white smoke.

Unplug the EZ while figuring this out too...it may be the box's fault. They go south sometimes!

yeah, unhook the EZ. I didn't read the original post completely. I also had a friend that had a Voluminizer on an 03 that did this. The box was defective, but after he removed it, the truck still had the popping and white smoke at high rpm. He traded it for an 04.5...

It's low fuel pressure.

I have a customer that had his truck doing it.

it was really bad with a Ramifier, and not so bad with an EZ.

We put some gauges on his truck, and with the EZ, he was able to pull his fuel pressure down to 0 by 3rd gear, and if he was cruising at 70, and went WOT, it took 2 seconds for his fuel pressure to peg at zero, and another 5-6 seconds for teh truck to begin to stumble.

Check your fuel pressure at WOT, and see what's goin' on. you probably need a better fuel pump to supply your high pressure pump.
