just what it says i got a 2005 5.9. Was wondering when you need studs. I'm running bully dog cai exhaust and upgraded cp3. I plan on banks intercooler and high ram intake.

imo when you get twin turbos, or making 50psi on a single. I've seen gaskets let go at 40psi also, just depends on the head pressures, timing set and back pressure from the turbo.

make sure to warm the block up before playing, ie, temp gauge to normal. hitting full boost on a cold block is asking for trouble.

What is the capable pressure of a stock turbo? I'm running scary larry and a boost fooler. So my outlook is fooled.

You can run stock turbos to what ever you want, basically until they go boom. Stock they run 28-32ish. Boost fooler, 35ish. I've seen guys run them to 45 on dyno's (which is not recommended). I'm not familiar enough with the bully dog, but I'm sure it'll make things hot quick. To me anything beyond 35 is way outside the map range, after that your just blowing hotter air and creating even more backpressure. You really need to upgrade to a bigger turbo if you like to play/race. Your best bet is to dump the bully dog and get a smarty, turbo, fuel system setup like airdog/fass/glacier. Things will run much cooler, even towing and you won't be staring at the egt gauge every time you decide to play.

tranny is still holding. truck only has 39,000 on and i got it new. I love my bully dog it runs like no other on the 05 i have tired smarty and there tunes and my truck just felt and perfromed better with bully dog on it. I was looking at injectors banks intercooler and high ram intake. But i'm reading and finding out that injectors elvate the egts even more. I'm looking for more power and mpg without taking away form the towing abilty of the truck. Its my daily driver its not my race truck or anything like that. It will never get crazy with twins or anything like that i just want a solid daily driver that rolls 13s or high 12s and pulls the world lol

Definately good thinking, on a stock tranny, stock turbo, I wouldn't add any more ponies. I'm surprised your tranny is holding honestly especially with the bigger tires, just keep an eye on it. Do you have an auto or manual tranny?

Bigger injectors won't increase or decrease your mileage, its all about the foot really, and how hot are you comfortable while towing, you could easily turn off your bully while towing and have injectors only. You should talk to Don M for injectors, he will get you setup correctly.

If I were you, I would save up for a tranny build, then get a turbo and injectors all matching up to compliment each other, fine balance getting everything to match up, especially if you want to keep it drivable and good tower. A good set of injectors sometimes actually runs cooler and produces less heat and smoke, do your research and talk to the right people.

The cooler is a good idea, especially if you want to make alot of boost, and are using the plastic cooler ends. The high ram intake is a waste imo, but each his own, good for guys over 600hp honestly thats it.

Bigger turbo = coooler egts theres really nothing else you can do to keep it from getting hot.

its a auto i know it should have been gone a long time ago. But i don't really even get converter chatter or anything. I just don't stomp it from a dead stop all the time and when i tow i always turn the outlook down if its over bout 5k. Mine dosen't get too too hot rite now. Highest i have seen is bout 1100 post i'm planing on installing one pre also just so i can watch more closer. I have to do mods one at a time as money allows. So i can't do injectors and turbo at once. Guess i'll focus on turbo and intercooler then tranny and injectors

I tried to find the email, Harry Piers(sp) sent me. He told me as long as you keep your EGT's below 1250*, the stock head gasket will withstand 90#s.

I never figured out how you could accomplish 90# boost, and keep your EGT's at 1250*.

dont buy an intercooler save your money! you will not need studs unless you are running high boost over 50
