I'd say as soon as you install a power adder you will benefit from a better lift pump. The factory pump is barely adequate for stock power.

Okay, I'm in the same boat.
My triple dog will drain my FP to "0" when I really tromp on it, is this going to hurt things if I kept doing it or would I be okay as long asd I'm not going crazy all the time?

The BDTD, the boost fooler, air cleaner can all come off if I ever have to take it to the dealer, what would they say when they see this big after market pump hanging off the frame on a stock truck? Would that not be a give-away I''ve been "tinkering"?

Also, what are the most economical pumps to add? I doubt I'll add much more power than what I've done so far, I don't think I need tons of fuel pressure but I don't mind paying more for better quality.

JR, I've read lots about Glacier pumps, what can you tell me about your Holley?
Is there any additional pump I can use where I won't hafta drop the tank to install a new pickup?

i like the fass kind of expensive some say loud but the water sep and filter on it is worth it to me and i have taken my to the deal and they dont seem to care about the lift pump since one they cant void a warr. unless they can prove its the fault and a fuel pump you cant say is the cause of a rod throw you know.

Al, what kinda pressure does that one put out and do you need to install a new pickup?
It is a lot cheaper than the Glacier kits...

I think that BD kit just splices into your factory fuel line. If your lift pump ever goes out, you still have a problem because fuel will not flow through the factory pump up to the BD pump correctly. At least that's what I was told.

Personally, I think that you need a lift pump before you start putting on chips/programmers. The reason I say this is because my truck will/would drain the CP3 down to 0 psi with a stock tune. Put on a power adder and it drains it quickly in no time. I tried to talk to a dealer about the fuel problems (when I was stock) but they were of no help. They said the pressure means nothing; tests are made on volume. I understand that, but 0 psi is not good on a stock truck any way you look at it.

As for which one, I like the Glacier because of the Walbro pump. They aren't very expensive and can be replaced easily if the need be. On the FASS, if it goes out you've got a problem. Both are good kits though. Not too many ever fail.

IMO....... you need a lift pump/fuel system NOW!
