wheels!

first off, hump, thanks for the help.

after all the research i've done I've narrowed things down.

I really like the look of the eagle alloys series 186 or the mickey thompson classic II. can't decide on which one to go with. however, in any off road magazine almost every fourth page someone is selling the mickey thompsons.

also, leaning towards the bf goodrich 285/70/17 over the nitto terra grappler 295/70/17. bfgoodrich has the reputation (which is all in my head I guess) but there price are higher

so any input.

also, where is all my money going???

The mickeys have a nice added feature of steel inserts in the lug holes. I have been very pleased with my BFG 285s on the stock rims.

The Mickey classic II's look great, bet they aren't protected so if your not going to polish them every week and be very carefull what cleaners you use you should buy a different wheel. I had a set on my 98 and they looked amazing, for about 3 weeks. Salt and calcium up here on the roads doesn't help, but I wouldn't buy another set unless I could get some type of protection for the finish, chrome or at least a protective clear coat would be great. I'd also gop with a bigger tire if your doing new wheels, a 315 on a 17X9, maybe bigger. I just bought Pro Comp X A/T's on the stock wheels and I'm very pleased with them, plus they still have the E load range. Good luck with the decision, everything your looking at is good stuff.

Thumbs up icrider

Your welcome

If you like the Eagle Alloys then I would highly recommend checking Ebay, that's where I purchased mine from for $405 shipping included for wheels, center caps, lug nuts and valve stems. The store name was Tomz Wheels. Very good company to deal with. Received my wheels in 3 days via ground shipping.

I'd recommend the Mickeys over the Eagles. The Mickeys are easier to clean and seem to keep the luster longer, in between polisings. If you want to spend a little more then Centerlines are an ecellant wheel. Real easy to clean and they have a couple year guarantee on the luster. Here's mine
