what shock to buy that would hold up for sled pulling and to drive around on.make and model # would help

 

I doubt any shock would play a significant role when sled pulling is added into the equation. The rear will completely loaded and the frontend for the most part will be completely unloaded unless to have it weighted. In both cases it doesen't really matter what kind of shock you have as they will have little to no impact on the truck.

As far as a DD shock, most folks here rely on the Bilstein 5100 series.

Don't get Rancho's they are terrible. Local parts store wouldn't take them back, and whne I contacted Rancho they asked a couple questions then stopped responding.
