What exhaust is best?

I have a 05 Dodge ram with a 5.9 liter. Is it better to straight pipe the muffler or put a flo pro on it? Thanks alot

From everything I read to date (alot) some don't like the noise of the straight pipe, although some do. I have the banks monster exhaust and like it. It was louder than stock. At first I was not sure I'd like because of the noise. But the drone was gone and I learned to love it.
I think they all are going to be noisey compared to stock. You'll have to choose because cost and acceptable noise levels. Some of the sites offer sound bytes to listen for yourself. Prices differences usually indicate the lenght of the warranty.

Straight pipe. Some don't like it, and I must say I wasn't sold initially. But, call me crazy, it's sounding better everyday. Either it's growing on me, or the straight pipe is getting caked w/ soot, or a little of both. It sounds like a moving truck.

It really all depends on what exactly your looking for. Straight pipe will be louder, probably produce some drone & lower your EGT while a high flow muffler (such as Flo-Pro) will take the edge off of the loudness & still provide good exhaust flow & also lower EGT. With that being said, I am running 4" straight pipe with a 6" tip & I think it sounds awesome. Deep, throaty & loud while a friend of mine is running the 4" Flo-Pro system with a 6" tip (including muffler) & his is deep & throaty but not quite as loud as mine.

I am very impressed with my 5" s.s. magnaflow. The install is very simple and very clean. I have the muffler in place and it has a very deep tone and almost no cab drone but alot of times i wish it was louder.
