You already have 4 inch exhaust stock, and unless you are planning on doing serious BOMBING, there is no need to go 5 inches, unless you want to, but like I said, it is not needed. I would recommend either removing the muffler and cat and making it straight piped, or if thats not your cup of tea, get an aftermarket high flow muffler. MBRP is very high quality nad popular. DO a search on here, and you will find all the information you will need. Welcome to the club.

I just put the MBRP cat-back and test pipe on my 04.5 and so far so good. Definetly quieter than my previous setup of the cat and no muffler, but still sounds good when I get on it. If sound is what you are going for, than I would just take the muffler off and run a piece of pipe in there. You can buy that at a truck shop for about $50. If you want to buy an exhaust, I would definetly recommend buying it from Lary at the DTR shop. Price was great and customer service was also great.

I was thinking I would like to remove or gut my cat and put on a hi flow muffler with a y pipe after. Does anyone know where I can get just the muff and y pipe with the left side tail pipe for my dually? Or a dual outlet muff etc?

I think I am now looking for a turbo back system that gets rid of the cat and replaces the muffler with a high flow unit. will the 04 systems fie my 04.5 I would think so but not sure. Seems like a lot of the systems for the 04.5 are cat back?

I like MBRP. I was fully impressed with the quality of there system. I got a full 4" system, and really like the sound. Even more so now that it has broken in a bit.

--I dont know if the full system is what you need though. Your 4.5 or up truck has a 4" all the way back like stated above. Their could be some benifit of having a mandrel bent down pipe, but Im sure its minimal benifit. Just go with the MBRP muffler and you cant go wrong!
