For Ya'll that are using water or methanol be careful I pulld my buddies intake horn and behold the ATS Bolts rusted and a layer of rust was forming (flaking)that could possible cause engine damage. The LOng Bolts on the ATS where being worn away and rusted by the injection. So ya'll be careful outhere

I had the same thing when I puller off my intake. I think there is a rust inhibitor that some guys are using. I have no idea what it is though.

WHy dont they sent stainless steel bolts, Like diesel guys wouldn't pay alittle more for better equipment... Some companies are so short sighted. Water+galvanized or cheap quality materials = rust problem.. Atleast offer an upgrade to there customers...

I think your missing the point...the head and block are not gonna be stainless steel and galvanized are they..... John P uses something in his water for his baby.....and it isn't vodka. ks

I guess you aren't one of the luck ones with a plastic tube from the IC to intake then? Mine is plastic but it hasn't blown apart yet...and I've seen 54psi a few times. I don't trust it though so I just bought a metal replacement for it.

CFM+ now makes a horn with ports for injection in it. The bolts also don't go inside the horn so, there's no metal to rust using it
It is plastic but, a composite and is more than capable of handle the boost we can throw at it.

After reading this... I think I'm going back to my CFM

That's why we use stainless steel hardware - not only in our water/meth systems - but for everything else we make as well. Fewer ferrous metals = long-term durability.

Yeah guys, but like abc4yew said, the intake manifold/head/block are still going to be susceptible to rusting. I've never even run water/meth on my 3rd gen and it still has rust stains on the inside of the intake manifold.

I've been running my Water/Meth everyday for the past 15k miles and have zero rust whatsoever... Just make sure you burn all of the water out of the motor by running it for at least 5 or so mins before shutdown... No water in the intake = no rust...
