WARNING!!! If you just purchased a Phat Shaft 62 for you 03-04!!!!
This is just a heads up....and a honest mistake on their part....to save them the time before they rip up their truck, and not be able to put it back together.
Someone out there purchased a Phat Shaft 62 turbo last week, it was shipped on Tuesday ....and they are going to be getting the wrong one.....BECAUSE I HAVE THEIRS.
Spent most of the day today installing my PS 62.....problem is that the exhaust clamp just slides off the turbo housing.....and is 1/2 inch too small
So if you ordered one....and it shipped on Tuesday.....measure the outlet of the exhaust housing....if its measures about 4.25 outside diameter you should be ok.....if its bigger.......then you have mine
Spoke to them this evening....They said that there was two turbos going out on the counter....and guess they put the wrong one in the wrong box, because I have got 04.5 install kit with the boost fooler plug. So they are going to be sending me out a new 14cm housing, so I get to pull apart the new turbo, to install the correct housing during the week.
And here I thought I would be crusing.....now its sitting.......and waiting....

Tell em to send a whole new turbo and you will send the mistake back. Either that or expect some kind of discount for your labor and inconvenience. I agree it is an honest mistake that was owned up to, but you and the other customer shouldn't be the ones to pay for that mistake.
I tried....
But they don't have any more 62 housings in-stock....or even 64's...out of those too.....unless I opt up to a 66. But I keep hearing about the 66's surging/barking.....don't want that now.

When I was there getting my injector problems diagnosed and repaired, I ended up having a SPS66 installed (funny how that happened, eh?
). The turbos they sell were machined on the exhaust housing to adapt to the stock type downpipe flanges, but I had the flared end type downpipe that mated to my previous HTB2 turbo. So instead of messing around with a new downpipe and custom exhaust work, they took a raw SPS66 exhaust housing and machined it while-I-waited to mate to my downpipe - for no charge. You can't get any better service than that!

I also would go with the 66, I have had very little barking and that is if you just let off the throttle when you are really getting on it. From what I have been told it wont hurt this turbo. Just be ready for it to pull like a freight trian this thing loves to be in the upper rpm range.
