Want to buy a Smarty but a bit scared..... Maybe Bob or someone can help.
Ok I have a 03 Ho I got it used so not sure what if anything was done to it before. I tried the BD Xtuner on it and there was no real performance increase. So I have been reading that once you install one downloader it can cause issues after that for all other box's.
Now I am scared to put down 700 bucks and not get any power increase because of a previous installed DL'er. Or even worse hurt the ecm, so I am wondering what I can do to help protect myself, if anyone has some advice please give it to me. I really want a little more power to play with, and a little towing power plus some extra mpg would be great. Maybe I am reading to much, or worrying to much, but dont want to make a mistake, its enough that I keep thinking maybe I am better off just staying stock lol.
I was also looking at the Hypertech hyperpac, not sure how there performance or towing power would be, but the gauge pack and loader seem very cool. Anyone have any experiance with this at all?? Please help me reduce my fears and make the right choice, thanks guys.

look at the diablo predator,for the early 3rd gens,{like mine}03-04.5.they are pretty wicked for the price,the 07s seem to be having issues being worked on,i have an 04 and i love it,i loaded tow into my dads 03 and he wouldnt give it back so he got an early fathers day present and i bought a used on from here.there are 2 in the classifieds here for your truck,also the diagnostic option on the predator is pretty cool, it monitors rail presure,tranny temp,engine oil temp,fan speed,rpm and all kinds of fueling things that im not sure what they mean but still very cool to see what changes from tune to tune,and they are updateable and theres a 200hp tune for free on thier site.they are half the price of a smarty,for the 03 04s i think thier pretty good,for the 04.5s and up the smarty may be the way to go.
