Walboro install problems

I have to say I am frustrated to say the least. Let me first just say I am very mechanically inclined. Now on with the drama.......

Tried installing Walboro 392 kit today and was unsuccessfull. The kit is well thought out and complete but, my pump will not run! I have checked and double checked all connections. I have read the manual atleast 30 times and I can't for the life of me see what is wrong.

1. I have power to the relay in the kit.
2. I do not have power (12v) to the Walboro pump.
3. Pump will run with separate 12v source. Good pump.
4. If I swap connection I can get the factory pump to run although.....
5. No fuel pressure from factory pump, just noise. No fuel in lines.
6. I can't get truck to run at all!!!!

Anyone have a clue as to what is happening or not happening?

Bryan

Bad relay unit? Not sure what else it could be. Good luck.
I sure like mine although I'm the one who got the 391 pump.

B2,

It sounds like a relay problem.

Separate issue, but, do you have the "in tank" stock pump? I don't see the connection to the stock pump not pumping. How is your new pickup arrainged? I'm curious too, why the 392 instead of the 391. Are you interested in bypassing 10 times the amount of fuel you can burn?

Most guys just want more. The 391's are a little harder to find now I guess. Richard used to have it listed but not any more. Mine gives me all the fuel I'll need. I get a pressure of around 18 or so when the stock was around 7. I'm not after max HP though.

LIMITED TIME OFFER: Now, free with every Glacier Diesel Walboro Kit- "Hone Your Electrical Troubleshooting Skills"!!

Well after cooling down overnight and thinking a bit. I wondered if I had something wired backwards. Well, there was something backwards but it was the last thing I suspected. It turns out the Relay Harness from Glacier was wired backwards. Ground/Trigger wire locations were opposite of where they needed to be. This in turn didn't allow the relay to send power to the pump. Swapped wires, I had 15 psi in seconds. What a friggin headache.

Hey Richard, do you test harnesses prior to shipping? Love the kit other than this day and a half fiasco.

Plan on the day just to be safe. I would venture to say 4-hours minimum. Take your time.

I just put mine on a couple weeks ago it took me about 2 hours. There is nothing to it really. The long part was dropping the tank and drilling into the tank and ensuring no pieces of plastic tank dropped in. The only problem I have with mine is when it gets below half tank it drops fuel pressure to zero then shots back up. I put a guage on to find out for sure what was happening. Still have to look into it farther though. Good luck with yours.
