upgrading my clutch... questions
i am looking for a new cluch for my 2003 dodge its a 6 spd, I am putting Twin turbos, and head studs, on it and im estamating that it will be around 550 600hp at max most likely it will end up around 500hp any way my buddys have all been telling me to go with a vailar clutch... but we have always had bad luck with them in our gas tractor pulling trucks... never put one in a deisel, i have heard several good things about south bend clutches i would like to get a dual disk all i will do with the truck is drive it like a grandpa until some one messes with me and well u know the every now and then drag race so i am mainly looking for a drag racing clutch one that CAN be speed shifted. any one got any ideas? what do yall think will work best? what brand? im open to all kinds of brands, and about how much it will run me and where to find it.
thanks Justin

I just put in a DD3250 from Southbend and its been great so far, its good for up to 475-650HP and so far it has a tad different feel to it than my stocker clutch but not much, it works nicely i tell ya! If you want something a little bigger go for the DD3600, its a step up but will hold 650-750HP. It is a little more aggressive than the 3250 with slower shifts and more noise. All of Southbend clutches are very underated and a great product nonetheless.
alright heres the clutch im looking at getting it says its good for drag racing and its not that bad of a price, but i have another question.... will i have to change my input shaft? it says it requires an input shaft upgrade? what else do i have to buy to make this work?
ive had the SouthBend DD3250 in my truck for 4 months... Great Clutch, a bit more touch and Grabby when breaking in... I love the clutch especially when you roll into the throttle , its Night and day compared to the stock clutch....
things to remember with the Southbend Clutches Dual Disc Clutches:
they Chatter when you step on the clutch pedal.
they Chatter at Low rpms sometimes.
they grab like crazy when you roll into the throttle...
if you can deal with some chatter and it doesnt annoy you... do the DD clutch.. i love mine and tow a 17K 5th wheel Toyhauler.
FYI... last time my truck was on the DYNO before the DD clutch.. 453HP and 899FT TQ...
