Water/methanol injection.. you can drop between 50-400 degrees, all depending on fueling and mods. other advantages are cleaning effects of the hydrogen as well as the added power from the meth, oh and did I mention it COOLS things down??!?!

Your not running any chips or prgrammers so how are your egt's so high? What kind of egts are you seeing?

I would like to know what some people think about the years making a differance. Does the years really make that big of a differance for as how HIGH your EGTs can go to be safe. Some say the later can exceed 1350-1400 all daylong SOME HELP PLEASE!

I'd recommend something with some good timing.tst or smarty. All the other small mods won't do much and a turbo won't help without fuel, may even raise egt's.

it really depends on how much timing there is in a truck. Alot of timing plus high egts equals even higher temps at the pistons.

Smarty Jr... Just enough timing on the 40hp setting to keep EGTs in check, and to add some power.. but no extra fuel....

Some say the 04.5 plus was built to handle more heat, but I still feel that 1250* continuous, 1350* max is the safest.

Smarty or a Smarty Jr. I have had a gauge for a while. I have watched my gauge through a Hypertech, DIablo, and even stock. Smarty drastically lowers EGT's on all.

Smarty for sure. On 7, I havent seen more than 1280, even towing 13-14k over some mild hills.

Depends... are you looking just for lower EGT's or do you plan to mod the crap out of it?

Exactly, future mod plans make a big difference on which direction you go. Timing will only do so much, water injection is just a crutch. The only real way to get colder air out is to put colder air in, in relation to the amount of fuel you inject. If your not planning on any big fuel mods then timing and intake/exhaust may take care of your problem. If you plan on stacking boxes or adding injectors then that stock charger needs to go.
