Upgraded Tranny and MPG improvement????

What kind of MPG improvements are you folks seeing after a tranny upgrade?
My overhead lyer went from 18 MPH to 21 MPG while empty and from 12-13 MPG to 15 MPG while pulling my trailer. I know it takes very little throttle to get the beast rolling from a dead stop since the upgrade. I was expecting a 1 MPG improvement not 3 MPG improvement. Not complaining, I'll take it...

I have checked my overhead and it was within .5 MPG before hand calculated.

The overhead is very inconsistent. It might be .5mpg off one time and 4mpg off the next.

Hello,

Sorry I cannot help with your question but I may be able to clarify somewhat. If your tranny upgrade included a TC then the mileage improvement you may be experiencing could be related to the TC. I am a firm believe in upgrading the TC due to the slipping stock design in around the town driving. If you do a fair portion of around own driving a TC upgrade is worthwhile.

Well, I went and got hay with my trailer so I can't use what I have currently. I will hand calculate it later. I always do the same thing. Reset it all after every fill up, etc. It's never lied that bad, ever..... The overhead is not the question anyway. What MPG improvements after a auto tranny upgrade is the question.

Well I have not upgraded mine but when I had a shift kit installed in my wifes van we saw a 1.5 mph gain. My self I'm not surprised to see that much if you also have a new TC to go along with the upgraded trans.
