uh oh... somethings wrong.. southben con ofe

I have a 2005 2500 quad cab 4x4 with the nv5600 tranny and ofcourse the cummins.. I have added a afe stage 2 intake smarty rokktech sensor and southbend con ofe. Lastnight I was horsing around in the driveway doing launches and I had a problem occur. I attempted to do a boosted launch in 2wd in 3rd gear... did it and immediately shoved clutch in and the truck didnt stop and wouldnt come out of gear. Have to turn truck off to get in and out of gear now. Tranny shifts fine when truck is off but wont roll with the clutch in. Did I just trash my slave cyclinder??

How doese the pedal feel?

Sounds like you may have welded the disk and FW together.

With what you did I can guarantee that you heated the clutch enough to weld the disk to the flywheel and pressure plate.

the pedal feels normal. I drove it about 10miles in 3rd gear and was able to get it into 4th barely. no slipping of the clutch. so now what should I do?? Would warranty cover this??

is there anyway to free them up if it were "welded" without removal?

you are going to want to get that trans out and see what exactly the deal is. You said you could not get it to go into gear with it running, right? How did you get it into 3rd to begin with? if you started it in first and shifted to second, you may not have actually shifted with the clutch......you may have floated it and thought you shifted. I mean technically you did shift, but the clutch may never have lifted from the flywheel, and when the rpm's matched up it went into the next gear. When I welded mine the guy said he had to use a 4 foot prybar just to break it loose from the flywheel and he never got the disk off the pressure plate. If perhaps you did break it loose somehow, chances are there is damage, or perhaps chunks of the disk are stuck to the flywheel or pressure plate. One way or another you need to pull the trans and inspect it to see what exactly has happened. I'm betting against a clutch master/slave......it's an 05 and highly unlikely. Also I too remember normal pedal pressure when it happened to me.

Every symptom you have given is 100% the same as mine. They will shift like normal with the motor off. But that's because nothing inside the trans is moving obviously. From what you posted, your clutch IS welded together and will have to be replaced....sorry man. Lesson learned!

Good luck getting it warrantied. They are good about warranting their products, but when you do something like that it pretty much leaves the ball in your court. They might warranty it, They might cover half the cost, they might tell you they won't warranty a dime. Better get it to your nearest diesel shop unless you're going to deal with it yourself.

I wouldn't warranty it... ofe is definitely not a 3rd gear dump type clutch... they may give u a better deal if u decide to upgrade with sbc again
