Two questions

I'm looking at a Banks High Ram Intake Manifold. I know you guys are hard on banks but like your opinions. If the price is right would help or hurt my performance and milage. I have an 03 with a bullydog triple, everything else is stock. I figure I'll need an exhaust upgrade, but can that wait.

Second, does a throttle body spacer do any good on a diesel?
All opinions welcome
Thanks
Chuck

Go with cfm+ or wait for the new afe manifold. I don't think there is a "throttle body" like on a gas engine so no, it won't.

No throttle body.

Exhaust and CIA would be a better idea IMO than a new intake manifold.

IMO there is little if any gain on a stock truck by changing the intake ram. The money is much better spent in other areas like exhaust etc

Its the Ram air intake that I'm looking for, but should I wait till I have an upgraded exhaust till I install it or will it work with the factory exhaust

Sorry guys, may you forgive my diesel greeness. Ram Air Cold Air Intake....does that make more sense. I'm just not sure if more air without more exhaust will hurt or help. I'm not quite ready to change exhaust systems and I don't want to hurt anything by putting on an aftermarket Air Intake.

Thats more like it. We thought you where talking about a new intake horn AKA intake manifold.

A cold air intake would be a good idea, then an exhuast would likely be the next step.

Nothing wrong with Banks but you may want to look at AEM or AFE also. Both very good intakes with AEM bein a little more friendly to the wallet.

one of the mags tested intakes sometime last year on the ctd, and found that the stock setup was not restrictive until 500hp. if you are looking for improved turbo music or slightly lower egt's, then upgrade the intake.
the muffler replacement is the cheapest upgrade for a few ponies and lower egt's, IMHO.

Not to start an argument but I find that hard to believe. My truck is TOTALLY stock in the engine/tranny area (no programmers, stock turbo ect...) and I can pull the filter minder down. That to me tells me something is restrictive but I may be wrong.
