Twins Nathan At Mpi ?
Twins Nathan At Mpi ?
hey guys question here about twins.i currently have a BD super B single, and was going to move into twins. instead of getting the tow twins, nathan from mpi told me to look at getting the s300 to wrap around the bd i have,he said its a better turbo, and would lower my egt's more to. chime in here fellas and give me your opinion's.
Nathan gave you sage advice, I'd follow it. FWIW, the BD tow twins use s300 variants on top and bottom just configured differently. It is a very good set up and good up to 550-575hp. They spool wicked fast too. If you are looking for more HP, their race twins are s300 over s400 and a similar configuration that MPI is likely to build for you too.
will the race twins coll just as good as the s3oo, cause thats the goal here, is to coll her down bigtime. but if i can get som extra hp by going with the twins let me know. thanks
I believe I said a S400 not a S300. A S300 is too small IMO. Most good single turbo's will do 95% of what a S300/S300 twin kit will do. The egt's will be slightly higher and they spool a touch slower but the cost doesn't justify the benefit IMO. The biggest benefit comes when you go to upper 500hp range and above. The stock turbo kit's are a good compromise between a single and a full on twin set up with two new turbo's. They also work great if you dont expect to go past a stage 1 or stage 2 cp3 in fueling.

Nathan, what is a good kit with the stocker. I have been looking at a 62 form HTT or II. But if I can use my stocker with a twin setup and later replace the stocker then I may go that route. Does anyone have a ballpark figure of a kit using the stocker and what are you running with the stocker?
I'm sure Nathan asked all the right questions and is steering you in the right direction. Ask anyone that runs his stuff (I called half a dozen guys) and the reply is always the same..."Nathan builds first class stuff with fit and finish second to none".
On the other hand I have been running the BD "towing turbos". Plain and simple they kick Edit stop light to stop light. While a guy running big twins is trying to make boost at 1500rpm the BD's are already screaming and blasting down the road. Driving style and setup can get big twins to run well on the street but they are no match for the BD's in tighter confines. The BD "towing twins kept my egt's under control until I was just shy of 700Hp...Then things got too hot in extended high speed passes.
They R-700 combo would work well for you as would Nathan's stuff.
Good luck!

MPI has a stock / s400 kit that would be a great starter twin kit
down the road if ya want more u can always upgrade the top secondary turbo
x2 on nathan / MPI nathan did me right ! MPI twins pulling strong

The biggest mistake,..
I think that most people make is trying to make do with something they've got instead of what will work for what they are trying to do. That's why we have Classified's.
If you tell Nathan exactly how you intend to use the truck and what your current mods are and what if any upgrades you are apt to make then he will direct you to the "glove that fits"!! Hope OJ doesn't get upset with me. I'm not knife proof.
Seriously,... I did the exact thing I directed you to above and I have not been anything but 100% pleased with my setup and it does everything I need/want it to.
