Turbo question?

I am looking for some help from the gurus here. I have what I think is a turbo problem. Driving down the road with 3/4 or more throttle the engine will hit around 22 psi boost and then blam the boost drops and the truck lurches for a split second. It seems to be sluggish and when cruising at 65 in cruise control there is 0 psi where it used to be up and down from 4 psi up and down depending on the road. I have been running a quad boost fooler and bully dog and it is the stock turbo. Does this sound like the turbo itself or a boost leak? What happens to a turbo when it goes out? Thanks in advance.

Take off the filtered air inlet tube and grab the bolt/nut that holds the turbo impeller in place. Try to wiggle it up and down, side to side, and in and out. If it has more than 1/16" play, it is worn and could be nearing it's life cycle.

I would guess you are either draining the rail by faulty fca or low-no lift pump pressure, your truck is going into some sort of a limp mode, or you have a big boost leak.

I would guess boost leak first, rail pressure second, limp mode third, bad turbo last.

i would start by removing the BD and see if it still does it.
then i would remove the boost fooler and see if it still does it.
more than likely its a hickup caused by the electronics...
