Question turbo boost

I was talking to a guy who tells me there is an orifice in the wastegate that if you change it will up boost to 50+ psi in my 04 1/2 600. Any truth to this and the big question what will I sacrifice? reliabily, drivabilty?

Anything over 35ish is bad bad bad on your OEM turbo.

The wastegate on the 04.5's is electronically controlled.

On previous model years, you could change out what's known as the elbow to change the pressure the wastegate operated at.

Now that I have my gauges working, I can say that I only see 25 lbs of boost. Is that normal?

Sound pretty normal to me. I believe the 600s run a little higher stock than the 555s, my 600 will spike to 32/33 and then drop down 28-30 on WOT.

I can't get more than 22.5 on my 04. Looking into making an adjustable elbow this weekend.

A buddy put his EDGE provided one last week and said he could really feel it! He was glad after seven months that I explained it's use to him.

I have read you can't produce more than 29PSI (3rd Gen) without a boost fooler or you'll get codes...

Tfeore is right. At 29 - 30 PSI the 555 wil give you an over boost code, and I believe the 600 is around 36 PSI. Mine 04 will only hit 25 PSI with my volumizer on 100 HP setting. I need to get a boost elbow as well, a little more air would really help keep things cooled down better.

Boost Fooler? What is this thing, my 555 with boost elbow and egde on 50 hp I have been able to spike the boost to 33psi and 30psi regularly, These codes, do they only show up at the dealership if they are looking at the truck or will something flash on the dash?

your edge has a boost fooler built into it when the boost exceeds stock levels the map sensor pick's this up and throws a code your edge box has boost fooling capabilites meaning that it tricks the computer into thinking boost levels are stock to avoid throwing code and going into limp mode

Waste gate

I looked at the turbo waste gate and mine has a line from the front of the turbo to the head of the waste gate just like my 99 did. Does this mean that the 05's are not electronically controlled but air pressure controlled instead?

The 05 and the 04.5 have the same electronic solenoid wastegate flow valve.
It opens and closes to let or restrict air pressure to the wastegate diaphram housing.

Boost on 04.5

I hit 40 on boost with different Juice beta boxes on numerous occassions. The latest version that EDGE just shipped is hitting 34. I had complained about the 40 and I'm sure others did also. the 34 is just right.
