TST PowerMax CR
Wow did you all hear what kind of power and torque gains TST is getting with this box, 150hp and 500 ftlbs torque with stock exhaust air filter and turbo. It is kind of hard to believe but I know what box I am getting if they would just hurry up and release it. Mike

They must have just updated their website because a couple of weeks ago it did say 400 but now it's 500. Also I talked to justin at Edge and he says that the Juice will be available at the end of November to early December but there power and torque claims are not as high as the TST, if I remember correctly he said 120hp and 350 ftlbs of torque. Re:TST PowerMax CR
I'm going to let the dust settle with all these new boxes. By spring we should have a pretty good feel of how they perform.
I'll have to say, I've been to the TST site to read about the PowerMaxCR several times. I will definately be watching this one!

Hey Butter Butt
is Stoopid the same as cooool ?
;D
I do know that TST does their own reserach and development, outside the box so to speak. So do others and they won't break the b#*k$
Streeeech out

Taking a stock truck and adding a box that more than doubles the torque at the rear wheels is just plain Stooooopid .

Maybe just cuhhhhhrazeeee ???
One the things that TST and I have disagreed on over and over is the usefullness of airboxes and exhaust. Mark Chapple is stuck in a little 'dyno box' and if something doesn't show an improvement on the dyno, then he won't comment on its usefulness on the street.
What I'm getting at is that the TST box (nor the Edge when it comes out) will not be useful on the street, at maxmimum power settings, without air, turbo, exhaust, transmission and fuel system. Leaving everything stock, EGTs will skyrocket, fuel pressure will drop, the clutch will slip, the auto will blow up, and small children and nuns will be killed by the flying pieces of your truck.
Well maybe not quite that bad, but the 150 pony setting will not be useful without the other upgrades.

I don't tow a trailer or drive to work on the Dyno... Why do they have to say thats the only way to prove it??? :
Superflow Dyno baby... with a good 10 minute pull otta quash that feeling of not needing upgrades.. Hillclimb program anyone??

Rod I have the feeling the 150hp setting is just the start. This Common Rail System really pisses me off... knowing that yall 3rd gen boys are gonna be around 500hp with just Boxes :'(. Wheres all the work? At least there will be some monster hp and tq numbers out there on very streetable trucks. I know I will get ahold of one some day...

Re:TST PowerMax CR
Your not going to be seeing anyone with 500 hp trucks that are street-able with just a box. Unless you consider a quick run on a dyno with immediate back off to prevent meltdown street-able. Others may disagree but IMO if you cant use it you don't have it. All of the manufacturers I have spoke with freely admit that they are already pushing up against the limits of the stock setup, turbo being generally blamed as the biggest inhibitor to more ponies. Your definitely right about how street-able the 03s are. I'm driving around north of 400 hp at all times without any smoke, no lag, or any other driveability issue. The truck actually drives better than stock.

Re:TST PowerMax CR
I didn't say 500hp with boxes and no other modifications... I meant 500hp with just boxes and no other fueling modifications. I definantly meant using aftermarket turbos to get to the 500hp mark. I drive around at about 450hp (or higher) every day... without any smoke, no lag, or any other driveability issues either ;D.

Well, we don't have that much less work to get to 500 than 2nd gen or 12 valve guys have. Its looks like the stocker injectors may support 500, so thats one less step. But otherwise, we've got all the same steps as you do, and to get past 600, we'll have a couple more steps to take. So its not all sweetness and light. :'(
But I do like that CP3.
