Tst and Hard Starting?

Hi guys I'm new so be gentle,

I installed a PMCR on my 03 a couple of weeks ago it has the most recent flash by Danny at tst. It works awesome except that i have noticed that if i leave it on level 3 or higher it seems to crank about twice as long(3-4 seconds)as it normally would. If i turn it down before I shut it off and the restart eveythings normal. Sound familiar to anyone? Thanks

Post SO or HO

Is yours an SO or HO engine. I have an 03 HO and leave it on 4-4. It does take about 2-4 cranks to start.

Sometimes mine does the same thing, however i have not tried starting from stock setting, never comes lower than 6-6 . I have found that if I turn it over once then try it again it will start right up

The TST advances timing, it is recommended to start truck on 0 setting (stock)or 1 setting( timing only). Timing is only advanced slightly on startup but it is the same effect that those doing the tone ring mod or roktech sensor are getting. I only run the numbers, HP settings above 1 if I'm towing or playing. The rest of the time you are just wasting fuel. I leave my TE on 4 or 5 so that when I go to HP 2 I've got good pick up. I am able to run 8/8 in cool weather with a fresh air filter, but 8/6 most other times. I only tow at 6/4 max and 4/4 typical. Playing is usually at 7/7 which is crazy fun in stop and go street lights. ks
