Truck broken into, Smarty on #9.

My truck was broken into and the thief broke the ignition switch. My truck has the gray key and so the thief could not start the truck, but he did cut the antenna that goes around the SKIM housing. I will have to take the truck into the dealer to get that fixed, but I need to put he program in the computer back to stock before I do that. I have not tried to start the truck yet because I am waiting for the police to respond. It has been 3 hours now.

My big concern was changing the programming back to stock before I take the truck in to get the repair to the SKIM done. The dealer needs to do it with the DRBIII tool and it didn't want them to overlay the Smarty programming with new programming from the DRBIII. That would lock out my Smarty and then it would become an ugly and expensive paper weight. As it turns out, I was able to program the truck back to stock and I feel more comfortable about taking it to the dealer. And my Smarty still looks like a rose.

I wonder how much it is going to cost me to get this thing fixed.

Anywhere near the Mexico boarder is the worst for Diesel Thefts...Supposably in mexico and south america the demand for diesel trucks is threw the roof.

Thats because Diesel is less than $1.90 there and gas is $2.60 or more. Of course thats the way diesel should be priced here too... oh well.
