TRE Diesel building my transmission

Ok for those of you that know me, I have waited far too long for this...

Im finally having timinva build my transmission! With 170k hard miles on my truck, it was time. 2nd gear was gone, and the others couldn't handle more than 1/2 throttle without slipping.

Going with a super single t/c and a billet input and all the other fun stuff Tim does to the unit. It should be ready tomorrow, so I will report back with my initial impressions!

Just had to share the excitement!!!

actually I went back over... might have a few cell phone pics of the trans in pieces

All I can say is timinva is the man once again!

He is doing great work. Never have I seen my truck roast the tires all the way through 2nd from a straight stab on the throttle until tonight, and don't get me started on the t/c lock up in 3rd... omg it is so worth it. My commute home finds me going through a tunnel, and it was awesome!! The truck lugged and could hold it on the grade up and it was vibrating the whole tunnel it seemed... just like an 18wheeler roaring.

I will post more once I drive it some tomorrow... the shifts down from say a 30mph to zero stop are felt right at the last 5mph, bump bump bump real fast... its pretty sweet to feel it work.

Tim actually gets mentioned a lot in performance trans threads..

Andy, I was down there during the holidays but there was too much family stuff going on to contact you. Not sure when I'll be down there again. Who knows, if the dealership can't fix my minor trans issues I may have to visit Tim again myself......

Tim is the best, I am currently trying to save some cash to have him build a trans for my new to me 06 ( he built the trans in my other 06 and it was perfect). He is truly one of the best builders in the country but even more than that he is a great guy, a good honest guy, he doesnt brag, and he would never sell you anything you dont need even if he has never met you before.

Ok I will stop cheerleading now .
