Tranny time!! Does it just need a fresh build?
So I have basic bolt ons on my truck, intake, 5" turbo back, Smarty Sr. and I want to be able to turn up the smarty to 9! So with a valve body and torque converter do this? I don't drag my truck but she does go off road quite a bit. Please give me some insight on what you guys would do.

Advocate of getting the ban button used on him...
Since I'm a manual guy I can only give advise based on what I have read here.
If you want to go to 9 on the Smarty you will need some upgraded shafts and flex plate as well.
Not to mention more fuel and and air too!
I'm sure others will chime in with better ideas

Winner winner chicken dinner!
Yeah your stock turbo may get a little toasty on 9. For sure you are going to need a lift pump, alot of guys run 9 and think bigger is better, but alot dyno better on 7 than 9 because the truck is not modded to handle 9. You will run out of fuel on 9, atleast most do so you need a lift pump. At minimum you need billet input, laminated flex, converter, valve body, (rebuild kit depending on miles), and most builders at that point are going to add a few of the smaller billet internal parts (apply lever, strut and servo cover).
Good luck, Rye.

Do it once and Do it RIGHT!!
You'll Always "Think" you'll stop at a certain hp level but you won't.. It's a sickness..
VB and Converter may let you get by for a bit but I'd suggest a full build for the Future..
I used Garmon's and just had my built again this week...( Mine held up through 3 motors and I finally "Swoled" it! }
But there are many great builder.. Just do some research and make some calls...
Just spend the extra money now..
Minimum:
VB
Converter (triple disk)
Flex Plate
Billet Input
Double Deep Magtech pan for extra fluid / Cooling..
Let me know if I can help ya in any way..
Take a look at my tranny carnage and build...
