Toyo Open country 285/70-17 in a 10ply???

Toyo has these in thier site but my local tire guy says that they don't exist. I contacted Toyo and they said they do, does anyone know of a place on line that I can buy the Toyo Open country A/T 285/70R-17 (E rated)??? The tire guy keeps trying to sell me the 8 plys, but I want a 10 ply tire.

Anyone have these on thier truck? Are you happy with them??

Thanks in advance..

I went through the same thing. Dealers say no, toyo say's yes. but dealers can only find them in mudders. I ended up with mickey thompsons atz 285.
Alot of 285 8ply's have the same or higher weight rating as the stock 265 10 ply's. ( 3195lbs) (at least the bfg atko, mickey thompson atz ,and coopers do)

I just went through this with the Toyos... local tire shop was very high , and the best deal I found online was from tiredeals4less.com (thanks to the member who gave us the info! )

They are bigger MTs than what you're looking for, but they have an E rating with a 4300# capacity!

Dang!!

I went through this whole scenario too,... they have 285s,... they don't have 285s. I went to the 295s since no one I could find could deliver on the 285s. I just didn't want the extra heigth.

You would think people in the business would know what the heck they have for sale. Geeeez!

Toyo's other tire brand (Nitto) has the Terra Grappler (very similar pattern to the Open Country AT) in load range E for the 285/70/17.

Thanks everyone (especially XLR8R), I have some being shipped to me now from the site above, 157.00 a piece isn't bad at all and I really like the extra load rating on them... I don't haul all the time, but when I do I am usally hauling something "silly heavy"...

I will get some pictures next time I have to hook that 14 X 70 mobile home up to the truck and move it again to it final resting place.

Exactly why I went with them over the MTZ's.

My Toyos showed up yesterday and OMG! are they HUGE

I had to bust out the measuring tape to make sure they sent the right ones (which they did), but I think it's gonna take an act of God to get them under the truck w/o a lift, or resorting to the jaws of life!
Nevertheless - I'll give it my best shot...

Also, they're pretty heavy - almost 100# each

p.s. did I mention these things are HUGE ?

I've purchased Toyo Open A/Ts both 285/70/17s and 305/55/20s at Discount Tire, they will also match any online prices

So what kind did you exactly order? AT's or Mt's? I sent www.tiredealsforless.com an email for pricing and shipping to me on the AT' 285/70R17 E-rated 10 ply's. No return message yet. That was 4 days ago

It's definitely going to take an act of God to get 37s under a truck with stock suspension.
