tow hooks
What is the problem? Are you having problems locating the holes? I took some pics, don't know if they will help or not. I have the dealer manual, I can copy the tow hook portion and e-mail it to you if you need that...

if that is the only thing I need to do, that seems easy. but according to the directions, there is a plate that I need to put behind the stock plate with the holes in it (I guess so the hooks are anchored into the frame itself). So it seems to call for the bumper to be removed, and the radiator to be moved a little.

yeah, if it says different in the manual let me know, because it seems kinda foolish to take apart the bumper in order to add one more piece of metal in the hopes of making it more rigid, when the stock piece is already attached to the frame as it is.

All the tow hooks ive seen dont stick out as far as yours. I thought they were more hidden but still accesable.
The tow hooks came with the truck.
The extenders were made by XLR8R, he is an advertiser here on the site. His word is good, and he makes a good product.
I'd go to the dealer, and look in the lot on a truck that has them and see if you can get a better visual on how they are put together.

I just removed my oem bumper and put a new Heavy Duty unit on. The tow hooks were atached to the bumper and not the frame. I took 4 bolts out and the whole thing came off. I can get you pix of the back side it you want.

The OEM tow hooks bolt on to two pairs of brackets that are in turn bolted to the front stubs of the frame horns.
The Xtenders mount in between the frame brackets and tow hooks to keep chains, cables, slings & hooks away from the bumper/fascia... and make a great pair of footsteps for detailing the front end or working underhood.

I just put tow hooks on mine and all I did was take the little pieces of plastic off the corners of the middle hole in the bumper and there are 4 holes to mount the tow hooks on. Be aware that you will have to put the lower outside bolt in first becaus there is no room once it is mounted. Don't ask me how I know???

yeah, thats what I ended up doing. hey, once you got yours mounted, did you have a lot of room to pass a chain through, or a tow strap? cause I cant unless I through a shackle on the tow hook first.
