Took my 600 with EZ to the track...

Went to the track in Rusk Texas on Sunday with the Edge Ez as the only mod to my 600. I have about 3200 miles on the clock.

I was expecting low 17's or high 16' and was very suprised when I ran a 15.9@84.4 mph. Backed it up with a 16.0@84.3. Day warmed up pretty good and the humidity went up as well so I dialed in a 16.1. The guy I ran against dialed in a 17.1 in a F150. I ran the guy down, passed him up and got on the breaks and ran a 16.08@76...busted out. I bet had I stayed in it that would have been a 15.8 or better.

I drove down empty but towed my friends 99 Lightning back after he put windows in both sides of the block. I drove down and raced on the 65 hp setting and towed on the 40 hp setting. Between his truck, trailer, equipment etc., I was probably towing in excess of 7500 lbs. My milage calculated by hand was 15.8, 16.4 on the overhead. From the track to my friends house was roughly 200 miles, trip total was 471 miles.

All in all I am very impressed with my CTD 600 in both performance and milage.

My truck is a 2004.5 3500 DRW CC 2WD auto.

I break loose very little when on a high grip surface, and I have intake and exhaust on top of my EZ.

Thirsy600,

That is Air Intake and Torque tube I am looking at, along with the Edge EZ. I was thinking about the Aeroturbine 4040 for muffler replacement. Have you had yours to the track and got a 1/4 time?

I was at the track Sunday and best was 16.8. Hot, muggy and completely stock with 315s and 3.73.

Hope to get into 15s with the above.

No traction problems at all...track prep was really good. Also, I was only leaving at 1200 rpm.

Traction on the street is a different story. I can get sideways on the 1 - 2 shift.

Sounds good. Buddy of mine with an 03 6.0 Furd faxed me his slip from last friday. Intake, exhaust, and some box that Edge makes and he ran a 13.90 at 98 mph. I wouldn't have believed it until I saw the slip.

Very impressive numbers for those mods.

There was a Chevy Duramax 2500 4x4 CC that looked stock running 16.85...with all the talk I thought I was going to get my butt handed to me even with the Edge....

Yeah I know. He wants to line up with me I have may have something for him but I'm unsure abou the 13.90 hehe. After he told me what he ran on the phone I asked him one simple question. "who's truck will still be running at 300k miles" he laughed and said "yeah yeah I know". He's had his engine out twice so far (when he was stock) for oil leaks near the bottom rear of the motor. When it runs good it runs great. That is when it runs good, maybe half the time.

Manganos, don't be blinded by the Cummins. Them Ferd's are rockets when that turbo spools up. It doesn't surprise me at that time. I've seen numerous accounts of guys posting in the 14's with simples mods such as air intake, Edge Attitute chip, etc. They are fast trucks, once you get past the turbo lag. Add to that a 5 speed transmission that can keep the engine in its power band better than a 4 speed can.

Oh, and Manganos, if your buddy keeps busting your *****, just tell him with regards to reliability, that 95% of Ford 6L are still on the road...........and the other 5% made it home.

I'd like to see someone post times using a stock truck with the TST Powermax. I bet 15 seconds is not problem with that box.

Also, Grumpy, what track did you go to at Rusk? I live right around the corner from you in Keller, and have been die'ing to rid in a mod'ed 600 to see what I'm missing out on. I have a 2004.5 4x4 600 with 315/70/17 BFG and 3.73 with 6 spd. Not much acceleration with that combo.

It's a first time visit for me to Rusk but I think it's the only track down there. The track is located approx 50 miles south of Tyler on Hwy 69.

It's a new track and is supposed to be one of the fastest in the country. It's level and very smooth with an up hill shut down area. The only complaint I have (as with many others) is there isn't any room to go around the water boxes.
