Just curious, Is that driveshaft hoop welded to the Cast housing of the Axle?

Yes it is welded to that axle housings. I have even welded the rear ladder bar mounts a couple of years ago on there.

They only rub at almost full lock with 2" leveling kit

On both sides or just one? And is it a scrub or a hard rub?
