TNT/R and smoke

I like how the tnt/r runs but I'm getting really tired of the smoke. My question is, if I go to aftermarket injectors will it reduce the smoke.

No it will not, Try turning the setting down. Also I don't see anywhere in your signature that you have valave springs so how did you get the tnt/r?

Yep, the TNT/R smokes ALOT, depending on your fueling/air and your Smarty settings. Try a lower setting for everyday driving as well as a lighter torque management setting.

I have beta tested every smarty program and the truck runs great but was wondering if injectors would ease up on the smoke a little since it would advance the timing a little. I know I can change to lower setting and it helps and I can change tq management and it helps but it seems like every time I set it down to control smoke I get some idiot beside me and I wish I had left it on full tilt.

injectors will make it smoke more. get twins and that should help you out. leave it on lower settings is the only way around it and leave the racing 4 the track. if your truck is fast then you should have nothing to prove, unless they want to go down to the track then thats a different story.

I would of thought a set of small injectors would help. I guess I'll have to live with it on low settings or get something else to shift on the fly. Any news on the new tst program to stack with the smarty?

How would one get the R? My twins are thirsty! I really didn't want to stack the Quad Race box but it made them come alive!

I run the TNT Race tune on level 9 with Flux 1 injectors... 40/3B twins and the TST on power level 4

just a little haze getting on the throttle on gear changes if I don't pay attention, but I can drive it smoke-free if I watch the convex mirror

how do you have your REVO settings set?

I can run it on #9 default timing, wild tq,4 rail pressure, wastegate off and it will walk the dog but just too much smoke driving around town. I can turn it down to 5 and control it a little better but sacrifice power.

wild torque is the problem... turn down the TM and the smoke will come down, but you'll still have good top end power

yeah agree turn down the TQ management and that will help and the rail pressure. I drive mine around with level 9 everyday and can keep the smoke down but took a little while to get used too.

I dynoed 617hp on #3 Try that. My smoke is controlable with pressure on #2,Timing#3. Seems to work well for me. I can still hit 60psi of boost as well and the truck is still stout

OK so am I missing something here? Are you calling the TNT a race tune.....or is there actually another tune called TNT/R that is not downloadable from the site?

I'm assuming it's something special hence the question about springs...beta etc.

Never Mind.....Found the info I was looking for....Sorry for the Jack TB.

I'll try that, I have been spending a lot of time on 5,7,9 but I also changed back from the 5.3 version to the 5.1 because it has more timing. I try lower settings on the 5.1 and if it doesn't get any better I'll go back to the 5.3

BTW the problem just lies at idle up to 1500rpm. As soon as my turbo lights it will clear up. Even if I ease into it I leave a trail of smoke.
