tires for 22.5 wheels???

ok, so i've pretty much locked in on the sumitomo tires for my rig. the reason why is because they look a little more aggressive than the hankooks and such. my question is:

is there another tire brand/model in the 255/70/22.5 size range that also has an aggressive off-roadish type tread design that i might find appealing? i really like the sumitomo look, but just want to be sure i am not overlooking anything.

But ofcourse!!! The new Goodyear G164 is probably the nicest tire that can fit on our trucks. I am TRYING to get it in a 295/75, but supposedly there is a huge national backorder on them becaus ethey are so nice. They are also M/S rated!

Here is a link to them: http://www.goodyear.com/cfmx/web/tru...ine=G164%20RTD

The M/S means they are Mud & Snow rated which is great because it means the tread is deisgned for that use. If you click on "products" at teh top of the page, you can search all of their tires by size. i think they have 5 in the 255/70 size.

How about this one? Can you get it in the size you are looking for? These have been great for me. G124

Unfortunately that is only made for 19.5 wheels. I think the 164 that I posted really si just a scaled up version of your tire.

I know. I would actually consider some 19.5s because of the ability to get direct 8-lug applications and easier to customize, but they don't make big enough tires. they are either too small for my truck with a lift (285/70) or too huge (445/50 super singles). I just hope I can get some of those 164s because if you like yours, then I am sure I will love mine.

that g124 is a really nice looking tire. if they do offer a larger size for my application, that would be the one!

as for the g3381a, can't find anything on it...got pix or a link?

Here you go!

I think the 164 is the way to go Darren. Its the same tread design as the 124 and perfect for both of us!

I don't know how big of a tire you are wanting but I think those G3381a are about 40 to 41" tall. You will need aleast a 4" maybe even bigger lift to fit those on your truck. Just a thought I had.
But like D. Wiggs said the 164's look like a good fit.

You do need a lift, but Darren has been planning one like mine which is why I recommended those tires. But good looking out.
