tire load range and max pound ?ss

I was looking at the procomp xtreme a/t im looking at the 37/12.50/17 and the load range is D but the max load lbs. is 3525 lbs and the 33/12.50/17 is a load range E but the max load is 3195. my question how does this work, and would a load range D be alright for a dually if it can handle that kind of a load? any help would be great thanks

You will have to run a spacer between the duals. The D rated tires are 8 ply not 10, so you won't be able to run 70 psi in them. The higher the air pressure the cooler the tire will stay (theoretically).

But in answer to your question, I've run D rated tires on my 99 dually for almost eight years with no problems.

Take a look at my gallery, the '06 is carrying the same load that I carried in the 99.

BTW, the Nitto Mud Grapplers are load range E, but you still can only run 65psi (go figure).

Plys ratings are a total of tread and sidewall plys I believe.

The company I bought the spacers from assured me that I could pull my camper and trailer no problem. Just re-torque them every 5000 miles, or whenever you rotate.
