timing rattle?
timing rattle?
Does anyone have timing rattle with a computer module and a timing duration module? Heres the thing, I just got the hot unlock code for my rig and only ran it a few times to see if it would throw any codes. That was fine and ran great even when i had my flashpaq on tow. Now i took my truck in for routine service and down loaded it to stock. Figure what the heck, check to see if there was any updates for the flashpaq it's been awhile. Go to the site and yes there was. So download and reinstall in the truck to tow. The truck ran fine no codes or rattle or nothing. Now had my brother in the truck and turned it up to 6 on the edge and came off an off ramp and BAMM 2k rpm in 4th rattle rattle rattle. So back it down. Never did that before? Hmm so is it over timing it now? Just to make sure i put the edge to 4 and it seemed fine. It's finally getting cold, would that have anything to do with it?? Any opinions would be great. Thanks
I was under the impression that the 06 j/a was only a timing and duration box. Least thats what the guys a edge said when i was concidering the purchase. They also said that there was quite a few people there running the stack with great results. Since you cant shut the ez off like the mp8 i could always unplug it and see what happens? Now with that info between the ez and the j/a that you guys brought to the table, i think 973604x4 said there was a sequence to plugging those together. Can't remember if it was the ez first or was it the j/a first?
The hot juice does not add pressure to 04.5 and up it just add to timming and duration. I think you plug the juice in first then the ez but I am not for sure that what we did to my buddy truck and his run good.
rstone, I just did the that and that is right. I was running it ez then j/a and i noticed a slight rattle even under normal driving. Well after this little episode this morning after talkin to you all i figured to swap them around to the j/a then the ez. Well to much to my SURPRISE the slight rattle is gone under normal driving. I took my dad out to lunch and did alittle running for him and got the truck warm. Turned it up to 6 on the edge and NO rattle at wot. I didn't do it much cause he was in there but must have worked. I never would have thought the rattle would be pressure related. Thanks for the tip you guys!!

See 973604x4 thats whats weird? I had it the way you say and it rattled in normal driving. Say 1 in edge and tow of course. But when i did it the other way this morning it did not do the whole rattle thing as bad as before. Thats why i thought rstone was right. Is the rattle lessend because it has to go through the j/a 1st? Also the turbo spools seems to me anyway, almost the same.

If the Juice was in the MAP first, it would be getting signal through the EZ which could make it work funny because there is no telling what the EZ tells the ECM concerning pressure. EZ goes in first so it modifies signal after the Juice, which will just add pressure after the Juice modifies timing/duration. Does that make sense? I'm trying to explain the rationality behind stacking i guess
973604x4 yeah that kind of makes sense. Thanks for trying to explain that to me. So i'll put it back the way i had it which is the way it was before and see what happens. Thanks again.
