^^^^ I heard the same when researching this same subject. Most of those in the know, or at least should know, have told me that the best choice all things considered are the stock pistons with ceramic coating used. I was told that some really high priced Arias are going to be available soon (if not already) but were not going to be that much better than stock especially for the cost.

Update on this one...

We put in a brand new bottom end: Block/pistons...

now after 1600 km on the new block, the engine blew up again.
Happened on the 3rd 1/8 mile race that day. engine quit running right through the 1/8 and blew white smoke, it wont even start, it doesnt have compression while starting...

it has had an injector knock/ rattle ever since the new motor, and it blew lots of white smoke in the morning and ran really rough! when warm it ran fine, except for the timing rattle before boost.

So high HP guys help me out here, what should i do now?

how about sleeve/new piston?

12 valve, need to identify the problem and then prevent it from happening again.
Excessive cylinder heat/timing/bad injectors seem to be the leaders in engine destruction.

The obvious signs prior to the failure would be helpful.

I thought I read somewhere that you did not have the injectors tested last time is that true?

not using water/meth.

obvious signs before damage where: thick white smoke/missing when cold, injector rattle/knock on all timing settings and on stock too.

Im having the truck assembled at a mechanic that has rebuilt many engines...

and yeah we didnt check the injectors last time it happened. probably our own fault. either way, it needs to be fixed...

Is it possible to sleeve the damaged cylinder and go with std size piston on that one? or rather bore all up and go with .20 oversize?

thanks for the input

You can sleeve it and go standard size pistons. This would be the cheapest option as long as the rest of the cylinders are good. If you have several that are bad I'd bore it.

It sounds like a injector issue to me. It could also be a cracked piston though.
