Thinkin about gettin a smarty...

Hey guys my Dad was looking into getting a Smarty tuner for his 05 2500 cummins. Its the stock 48RE auto though.. we know all about the power levels....0-170HP right? with and without timing..does it have any adjustable settings for the tranny? like line pressures or shift enhancers? thanks guys. my Dad is very very mechanical but doesnt want to screw up his 35,000 dollar truck , Brandon

keep to the lower levels, below 90 hp and use the torque management feature, and keep the tranny in mind to pay it some lovin, billet and tripple discs I can definitely recomend an installer for Goerend in Shickshinny.

No adjustments for the transmission. Like Mike says, keep the hp under 100 and the torque management on setting 2 or lower. Minimum trans upgrades should be a converter and valve body.

You could always look into valve bodys, shift kits, etc. Its much cheaper than replaceing the whole trans and shifts much better. My truck shifts great. Nice and light when your easy on the throttle and very firm when your racing, always at the right rpm to.

Also the jr. is an option. Plenty of power too on the higher two settings for a stock trans
