i got a he351cw that im going to put on a 12v, but i figured this would be the place to post this since ya'll all have the same turbo, anyways, i was going to make the wastegate hole bigger on this turbo i got to wondering if there would be any way to make the noise unusually loud or even whistle when the wastegate opens? a whistle is an extremely simple device ya know? all it it is making the air go through a certain way or through an orfice just right... idk just something to ponder on

Don't guess I really fully understand your question, on the whistle comment, it may be a simple thing but you just can't get a lot of it out of these third gen turbo's if ya wanted the whistle you should of thought about a Garret.

If you're looking for load whistle, you can take off the silenser ring on the cold side. That way you'll hear the turbo more when you're making boost.

Do you mean a blow off valve?? There's no whistle from a wg. My truck whitsles at idle, and all the way through the rpm's.

This thread is awesome! I'd put a powerstroke 6.0 under the hood for some whistle between shop visits. If you want whistle out of your cummins out of the exhaust(hard to get w/ your 9cm exh housing)... install a turbo w/ larger exhaust housing and open the intake to the turbo as much as you can w/ a BFF.(big f... filter). Remember, no muffler too, it will jack up your whistlin'.

BTW, when I had 5" strait piped and a 14cm turbo exhaust outlet it whistled more than I could handle. Deafening going down the freeway if the windows were down.

I have a 5" exhaust, 13cm housing, and a 51" donaldson muffler, muffler helps on drone and loud exhaust, but the whistle is able to get out of the exhaust still...best combo I found, and this an aftermarket turbo, no silencer ring, and I have an AEM workhorse intake. Its not annoying, its awesome. You won't get whistle from the wastegate opening, without sacrificing something else with the turbo, and even at that I'd doubt it.
