Suspension systems and rear sag

Alright Im lookin at the Carli starter levelling kit, my stock suspension sucks. The only thing holding me back is worrying about rear sag. I often carry pallets of cement in the box and tow heavy goosenecks. Should I look at perhaps adding a block to the rear with the suspension kit? Should I supplement the rear with air bags? I am open to also considering the Lorenz kit.

What are your problems with the stock system. It seems very odd you want to jack up the front of the truck about 2 inches to get rid of the built in rake and then worry about rear suspension sag.

i have carli full leaf springs ,and i tow 15000lb toy hauler. i load my truck pretty heavy with tools and lumber, and it does sag down but not as much as stock. i will be going with carli airbags, but if you arent using your truck off road you wont really need those just some normal bags will work.

Who cares about sag. Get the Carli setup.

Doesn't matter what springs you have in the back. Big enough load will make your truck sag. Air bags if you are going to hual/tow heavy to level the truck and get some kind of control and ride comfort.

i put 2" blocks in the rear so i could keep the rake look and put a set of timbern load bushings in the rear i like them alot they don't effect the stock suspension any and are only in use when the weight in the bed causes the rear to sag 1/2 inch and then it stops.

Stock system rides rough and I can tell I need new shocks anyways

Sag looks terrible and I think I run the risk of getting pulled over by dot. Not something I'm interested in

Airbags with an on board air compressor will make a big difference. When the rear starts to sag under a load just add air until level. Once load is off just deflat the bags. Works great when towing a fifth too. Sometimes just adding a pound or two makes a world of difference in handling...

So will any airbag setup work with the carli system? What are some recommended air bag/compressor systems. How much for the typical setup?

I did not want to spend the money on air bags so I bought an add-a-leaf for 85.00; took one of the 1 inch blocks installed and replaced it with the add-a-leaf. Truck sits level with the 110 gallon tank full and squats just a little when a haul the gooseneck with about 15K on it.

If you're going to add the typical air bag setup or add-a-leaf don't waste your money on a better suspension. Adding that stuff will just wipe out the better ride of the suspension system.

ptgarcia....phhhttttt!

IF special attention and a few custom parts are made...you can utilize an off the self air bag kit and not compromise a "performance suspension" too much.

I did...

But...I still wish I had a few extra bucks laying around for a Carli Air Bag kit.

Bags just limit travel too much. I'd like to make more travel, not less.
