Superlift Recall - Please Read

Some of you may already be aware of this... some may not. Sorry if this is old news.

Superlift has issued a recall on pitman arms used on the 2003-2007 2500 & 3500 Ram trucks. If you've got a Superlift pitman arm on your truck you need to exchange it, PRONTO! It can develop a crack at the splines, fatigue and then ultimately fail. You can imagine what would happen if the pitman arm failed at speed. If anyone purchased a pitman arm for use with a different kit you owe it to yourself to figure out the source of the product. Superlift offers this part for purchase separate from their kit too.

Any production date, before or after a certain time, or ALL of them?
Are they exchanging them for another one?

Ok, I found this link...http://www-odi.nhtsa.dot.gov/cars/pr...rintVersion=NO

NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID Number : 07E009000 Mfg's Report Date : JAN 26, 2007

I went to the local shop that installed my lift this past summer. He had not been notified. He called Superlift and they told him to check the Pitman Arm for a purple stripe. If it has one then it is involved in the recall. Yes mine did. They are shipping one to him.

So check your arm for a purple stripe if you have a Superlift kit.

Yep, purple paint on mine too, mine is on its way. Ill be happy to get it swapped out, at least they are making it "right" I suppose, just wish they would notify people, since the place I bought the lift from had no idea what I was talking about either...

That's why sites like this are so beneficial to owners. I had heard rumors of this a while ago but didn't want to post this until I knew for sure that a recall had been issued.
