superchips flashpaq 3805 anyone use it?

Hi, I have a 04.5 CTD 6 speed and was wondering if anyone ever used the superchips flashpaq and how it worked was it worth it ? I am going to add a 6" lift and 37"tires and want the chip just for speedometer and help gain some of the lost power back from the tires. So any help greatly appreciated THANKS RICK

My dad tried it on his 2007 5.9L and it shorted out the computer and alternator. We had to take off the computer and ship it to Superchips and they reset it. Needless to say we did not try the Superchips again. It was returned and he bought something else.

Thanks for replies guys I was only thinking superchips because you could set speedometer for larger tires and was kind of worried what the 37" tires was going to do to power since I am not changing gear ratio,s thought maybe the chip would make up some power loss. May try looking into other chip

My dad and I both have a Triple dog and you can adjust for larger tires on it now. You can also raise the speed limiter. I put mine on my 2006 with 15k or so I think and I now have over 48k and haven't had any trouble at all yet. I don't have any gauges and keep my truck on performance all the time.

I have a Superchips Flashpaq and it has done well,it has been on the truck for 38,000 miles. But I am going to buy a Smarty jr. You have no customer support with superchips.

most people's gripes with superchips are that they sold their tuner with an extreme setting that to this day can not be obtained from superchips. i think at this point they have scrapped the whole idea of any setting higher than perf. also ask anyone who has updated their flashpaq and they will tell you that the power has dramatically decreased on the perf setting (rumour is that they de-fueled higher hp settings for carb/epa compliance)... also bad cust service.

Smarty will adjust for larger tires.

I have a superchips on now. It seems smoother than the Predator. Predator makes a bunch more power, but it smokes quite a bit. Only trouble I ever had was when I sold my last truck & went to load it onto my new truck, it would not load. I had to send it back but they fixed it for free. I feel it is a good "set it and forget it" tuner.

I am still selling it and the Diablo for a Smarty or a Smarty Jr, though. Smarty is the only company that has quality, ongoing service.
