$140 is cheap, all the features of the big boys without the extra $100 and shiny paint. I'm thinking of one....

I like it.
There is another one manufactured that is like that one and around the same price, but I can't find one and don't remember the name.
This one doesn't look like it would work unless you removed the Grid Heater.

For a 140 bucks I can make that! Theres not even 30 buck in matterials in it and maybe half hour of time. I'd powder coat it also to make it last longer. Just my opion.

There is about $30 in materials if you don't have any scrap laying around and to get the angle right and get it fitted and welded up will take you more than 30 minutes. I'm not saying it's worth $140. I'm just saying that it's not quite as simple as you put it.

I made one a little more complicated than the Ebay one. https://www.dieseltruckresource.com/...ht=intake+horn

If I had it to do over again I would probably buy the one from Ebay. I had many hours in mine and I could not build one and be profitable for 140. You have to remember.... Paypal 3%, Ebay 2-3$ , packaging, driving to UPS Store, etc.etc. and possible problems with fitment and warranty. I think the guy is being fair for 140.

The SCIH doesn't appear to have a bead rolled into the end to keep the hose clamp from slipping off - would a simple flair be adequate?

The manufacturer told me he welds a bead on the lip of the inlet to keep everything in place. That sounds quite reasonable to me.
