Suggest a turbo for me please..

Here's my needs..

- I can NOT have any slower spooling than stock. I need to drive as responsive as I can. This is my most important need..
- Need a few hundred degree drop in EGT
- More power wouldn't be bad haha!

Thank you!

Do you plan on injectors or dual pumps in the future? Are twin possible down the road? With an auto you will want and smaller turbo, I have seen the HTT 62/13ss run amazing on my buddys truck that is where I would look first. Just give HTT and call and they can help you pick out what fits you best. Good luck!

With those requirements, Don - you need to go with a 62 (I like the HTT stainless too).

Hey Don, what do you have for gears? I have 4.10s with my 37s and love'em, perfect tire gear combo I think. You need to see what rpm range you operate in most and what egts you want reduced most ie; peak egt or cruise egt or tow egts. In my experience a 62/65/12 will be best for towing and cruise but from about 1700rpm and up a 62/71/14 cant be beat with a 62/65/14 being a compromise between the two. A high dollar ball bearing turbo would be the ultimate in all scenarios from what I have read.

What about stock turbo/ s400 twins? That would spool very well and cool you down.

It's going to spool slower than stock though.

My dad has a 64/65/13ss from HTT on his 06 and is spools pretty much like stock. I have heard that the 62/65/13ss actually spools faster than stock.

Wont that be offset by the ability to run more fuel than the stocker alone and making the spools similar?

A 62/65/14 (HTB2) will work really well for a 500 hp truck. Cheap too...

I agree...

Or a 62/65/13ss if you want to spend a little more. Then you'll have a perfect turbo for upgrading to a baaaaad set of twins!

Thanks all!

I don't ever see myself doing twins, as I'll have way too much suspension stuff in the way..

EBunger, 3:73 gears. This is another reason I want all the bottom end I can get, with as little lag as possible. I'm not into drag racing, but more interested in making the power/torque curve as strong as possible, from down low as possible.

Are ball bearing turbos THAT fast?

Okay, here's an easy one for you guys,
can someone explain the numbers in
62/65/13

I'm guessing
size of exhaust from engine // size of compressor to engine// (no idea?)

Don't they ALL have bearings?

Save your money...HTB2.

How much money do you want to spend? What are your end hp goals?

Your suspension stuff fits nicely around my twins...lol.
