Stock shock length w/ leveling kit?
Stock shock length w/ leveling kit?
Just ordered coil spacers to level my truck, and am getting ready to order new shocks. They say factory shocks can still be run. True? Will the shocks top out? I want to replace to something better while I have it torn apart anyways, so I'll be putting a set of bilstiens in, but should I buy a longer shock? Thanks everyone!
My experience is with that is it probably depends on what kinds of road you drive on. On the highway I couldn't tell that much difference in the ride before and after the leveling kit with the stock shocks. Now, the dirt road was a different story. It was quite a bit rougher.
In my honest opinion I think you'd be happy with the after-market shocks. The stock shocks are not that great anyway.

All stock shocks suck (except maybe those found on high end sports cars) and should be trashed as soon as possible. On the highway they may ride good, but so would no shocks. Do yourself a favor and get a quality set of dampers, and it would behoove you to get a set a couple inches longer than the stockers.
